WHY?
Short Answer: Because Beijing has never really revealed any numbers.
Long Answer:
There are two reasons for that:
- The Chinese Communist Party is not answerable to anyone- their media is censored, the public cant protest.
- Life is cheap in China.

A large part of China’s defense budget goes into policing its own people. All protests and dissentions are brutally crushed by the PLA, which explains why it is called the People’s “LIEBRATION” Army. The PLA in turn takes an oath to protect the COMMUNIST PARTY OF CHINA and not China itself.
We know what happened at Tiananmen Square right? Beijing has not released EVEN THOSE NUMBERS AS OF NOW.

Chinese Regime brutally murdered close to 1,000,000 of its own citizens at Tiananmen Square.
Chinese Regime has murdered close to 78,000 Falun Gong Practitioners (its own citizens) and sold their organs in the international markets.
Chairman Mao killed 76,000,000 of his own people with his Great Leap Forward that resulted in a famine. Attacking India in 1962 was in fact a way to get the minds of Chinese people off that pressing issue.
Finally coming to your Question: Sorry for the delay but people would have asked how I got the numbers, so I took them through numbers:
Some unverifiable Chinese sources have suggested there have been 8 Deaths and 14 serious injuries.
Indian Army Intercepts claim there have been 43 Causalities on the Chinese side. (Dead + Injured).
US Intelligence reports state there have been at least 35 Deaths and some 7 PLA Soldiers are critically wounded.
